I’m definitely not one who attends tribute bands but The Australian Pink Floyd blew me away…again. I’ve seen them before doing the “Dark Side of the Moon” but this time they were coming to town to recreate Roger Waters masterpiece, “The Wall”. At first i was hoping for the actual recreation and reenactments of the original concert with cardboard or Styrofoam bricks that would eventually cover the who band followed by its eventual collapse. Instead they performed the whole album accompanied with up to date 3D visuals from the original animations and designs by Gerald Scarfe. The performance was anywhere close to perfect. If you were to close your eyes and listen you would believe Roger Waters was actually there. Everything from the sound and tone of the guitars to the lights made the mood of the event almost perfect. I would say perfect but that would mean actually having Pink Floyd perform the show.

The highlight of the night for myself was the projection of images of Richard Wright (1943-2008) during the performance of “Great Gig in the Sky”. It was an absolutely touching and fitting tribute to one of the founders of this incredible band.

After a perfect performance of “The Wall” with an hr left in the show the Aussie Pink Floyd did what they do best… They did an encore of songs from the “Dark Side of the Moon”.  A fitting end to a great evening and performance.

It is absolutely wonderful that these guys are keeping the sound and the image of Pink Floyd alive for a new generation of listeners. For me with the passing of Richard Wright I will never get the chance to see all the original members of Pink Floyd live and now I will never will, one regret I’ll unfortunately take to my grave… Although to leave this review on a high note, anyone wanting the closest experience to Floyd in a smaller venue will not be disappointed and i definitely recommend all fans old and new to take in this show, I know you will love every moment of it.

Thank you Sid and Rick and we all “Wish You Were Here”.
